Are you with us? — a multi-state video production. — American Promise

American Promise is the national organization driving the 28th-amendment effort. Their question for us was simple and hard: could we make a single film that worked in five very different states, for five very different audiences, without softening to the average.

The film

We shot in Maine, Wisconsin, Texas, Arizona, and New Mexico over six weeks. The film runs fourteen minutes and twenty-two seconds. The cut is the same in every state. The pre-roll, post-roll, and lower-third packages change per state — same film, locally framed.

What is signature about the work

The film does not announce itself as political. It is a documentary about people who have stopped expecting politics to work and started doing the work themselves. The campaign hook is at the very end. By that point the viewer is already with the people on screen.
